First-week snapshot from the Gaibandha district ICT lab pilot.

In April 2025 the Gaibandha District Administration, together with the Digital Education Hub team, launched the first ICT Lab Pilot. Selected students from partner schools joined weekly sessions on coding, robotics, Google Workspace and online safety.

Key insight: early sessions show strong engagement. Attendance, project scores and feedback are being logged in Google Sheets for transparent reporting to school leaders and the district office.

Background & context

The pilot runs with small cohorts from partner schools to test curriculum pacing, lab readiness, and reporting. Sessions combine foundational digital skills with hands-on builds so we can validate what resonates locally.

Student activities & highlights

During the first month, learners completed hands-on mini projects such as:

  • Scratch-based mini animations and storytelling
  • Micro:bit traffic light simulation
  • Robo-car line follower challenge
  • Simple HTML web page about their school

What we learned & next steps

Early feedback confirms students enjoy project-based work and clear reporting. Next steps: add more sensors for robotics, introduce AI literacy basics, and expand the pilot to additional partner schools after the first six weeks.
